The sixth edition of the International Flower Trade Expo (IFTEX) from 7 to 9 June in Nairobi focused on Kenya’s trading relationship with the EU and new export markets, and the efforts of the Kenyan flower industry to meet and exceed quality and sustainability requirements through the KFC Silver Standard.
On 6 June, Kenya Flower Council hosted a Kenya Flower Industry Sustainability Conference, with participation of FSI, which addressed challenges and reviewed current interventions that contribute to flower industry sustainability, i.e. trade protocols; market access; logistics – cool chain, worker welfare and environmental stewardship.
