At the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI), you’ll be at the heart of international efforts to make flower and plant production more sustainable. Together with companies, NGOs, and supply chain partners, you’ll help shape a sector where people, planet, and profit are in balance.

FloriCompact now also available for small-scale growers. Starting 3rd of November 2025, growers can also use FloriCompact, a scheme developed by Agraya GmbH (owner of GLOBALG.A.P.).

The Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of certification services tailored for small-scale growers in the Global North. In collaboration with MPS and FoodPLUS GmbH (owner of GLOBALG.A.P.), these services will be available before the end of the second quarter of 2025.

The Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) seeks a new Independent Chair starting February 2025. The role involves leading sustainability efforts, stakeholder engagement, and global advocacy. Candidates should have executive experience, sustainability expertise, and leadership skills. Find out more below

The Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) warmly congratulates the developers of the HortiFootprint Calculator from MPS | LetsGrow.com and the Flori Footprint Tool from Greenhouse Sustainability. Both tools have successfully passed independent benchmarking and are now officially included in the new FSI-Basket of FloriPEFCR tools for use within the floriculture sector.

The board of the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) defined the revenue definition for small-scale growers in the Global North on 30 May. A special FSI project group has been working on this recently, in close consultation with various floriculture parties. This now provides clarity on which small-scale growers belong to this group, so that they can prepare for sustainability certification

As we close in on the end of 2023 it is time to share some updates and the events that have taken place since the summer newsletter. It has been a year full of development, collaboration and optimism. We look forward to building on the good work in 2024, pushing the sector toward a more sustainable future.
